Local Charities
San Pedro Red Cross
The local chapter of the Red Cross provides many ongoing services to our community including First Aid training, blood drives and peer education as well as event specific support in cases of social assistance to disaster victims. Donations and assistance are always appreciated.
Hope Haven
Hope Haven is a non-profit children’s home, empowerment center and food bank. Check out their website and Facebook pages for more information regarding the incredible services they are providing to the community. They are also in the process of building San Pedro’s first orphanage and women’s shelter and donations are needed to finalize these plans.
San Pedro’s Lion Club
Serving the needs of the community of San Pedro since 1975, The San Pedro’s Lion Club sponsors and hosts various charity events, including the food bank, clothing drives, eye examinations, Friday Bingo and special events. Visit their Facebook page for up to date information regarding their events.
Saga Humane Society
Saga is a non-profit and an NGO focused on preventing cruelty and providing kindness to all animals. They provide medical care and shelters to animals in need and subsidize veterinary care to low income families. They also assist with spay/neuter and vaccination campaigns, animal adoption and public education programs. Donations, adoptions or just visiting the animals at the shelter are appreciated!
San Pedro AIDS Commission
Focused on promoting awareness and the prevention and care of HIV/AIDS in the San Pedro Community. They host various awareness campaigns and provide financial assistance to HIV/AIDS patients. Visit their Facebook page to learn more about the group’s work and upcoming campaigns.
San Pedro Cancer Society
Health care costs impact everyone, and residents of San Pedro suffering from cancer struggle to find resources to cover medical Costs. The San Pedro Cancer Society works to create awareness and raise funds to assist cancer patient on the island. Efforts are funded through generous donations.
The Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye
This local, non-profit organization is an extension of the international organization. This hard working group supports various needs of the community and appreciates new members joining and donations.
