First stop is Hol Chan where visitors will enjoy an abundance of sea life and coral gardens. Swim with rays, yellow tails, parrotfish, grouper, snapper and countless other varieties of colorful fish. You may also enjoy an encounter with a moray eel. Sea fans, brain coral, iridescent sponges and other formations will make it hard to get back in the boat. Snorkeling
Mexico Rocks lies just north of San Pedro in clear, vibrant blue waters. Here you’ll see barracuda, horse eyed jacks, grouper, sand sharks, turtles and thousands of tiny neon colored fish. Then it’s off to Tres Cocos where you’ll swim through over 30 types of corals including brain and huge stands of elkhorn corals. Tour departs at 9am or 2pm returning at 12pm or 5pm. Begin this private tour fishing for your lunch in the morning. While the guide cleans your fish and preps for lunch, enjoy amazing snorkeling. Then go to the shore where your guide will prepare your beach bbq while you explore and relax. Tour departs at 8:30 am and returns at 4pm. Cost is US$450 – US$550 for the boat up to 4 people. A great trip which offers the opportunity to safely see the Antillian Manatee, native to Belize, in their natural habitat. Depart at 8:00 am and travel to Coral Gardens for snorkeling. The tour then moves to the channel area between Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye in search of manatees. The tour ends with a stop on Caye Caulker to feed tarpons, see the sea horses and have a quick lunch on your own. Return back to San Pedro around 2:00 pm. Cost for the tour is US$125 – US$150 and includes snorkel equipment and drinks.
Bacalar Chico on northern Ambergris Caye covers 130 km2 of the Belize Barrier Reef as well as Rocky and Robles Points – the only points where the barrier reef touches mainland Belize. You have the opportunity to travel along the back of the island to the park reserve where there is a visitor center and ranger station. There is also a nature trail which provides visitors with the opportunity to get up close to the flora and fauna of the reserve and see Mayan mounds.
After visiting this pristine reserve, we continue on to snorkel stops at Barracuda Reef and Rocky Point. Then we head on to Robles Point, where we will stop on a pristine stretch of beach where the reef almost touches the island. Here you can snorkel the reef or explore the deserted beaches while your guide prepares a delicious Beach BBQ for you. Tour departs at 8:30am and returns at 4:30pm.
